Objectives 1. To provide professional standards of animal care, rehabilitation and assistance to injured, sick, rescued or orphaned wild birds. 2. To educate the public about the importance of our migratory and resident wild bird populations to the Florida Keys and to the Everglades. 3. To provide a humane example for others to learn and follow. The Florida Keys Wild Bird Center is a non-profit 501C 3 organization that relies almost entirely on the generosity of both public and private donations. We sincerely appreciate and are thankful for all donations regardless of size.

Our boating activities include tours of Parasailing, Enviro-Tours into the Everglades National Park`s Florida Bay, Snorkeling in the coral reefs of Pennekamp State Park and the Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary and Sunset Cruises on Florida bay. Our beach activities include rentals of WaveRunners, Banana Boat Rides, Hobie Cat Sailboats, Kayaks, Stand Up Paddle Boards & 2 or 4 passenger Paddle boats, and snorkel gear for the beach. Customized group activities are our specialty!

www.everglades.com ~ 305.247.2628 ~ Everglades Alligator Farm, one of Homestead`s busiest attractions draws tourist and camera crews from all over the world. This privately owned attraction is a real working alligator farm, according to owners, Charles and Deborah Thibos. The Everglades Alligator Farm is currently home to about 2,000 alligators of all sizes. The smaller alligators are kept in growout pens and the larger alligators are in natural settings called breeding ponds. It takes about 6 years for an alligator to start breeding. The female alligator will have only one clutch of eggs a year, depending on the mother`s age and fertility the clutch will contain up to 45 eggs. A trip to the alligator farm includes an exciting airboat tour into the surrounding river of grass and a walk around the farm to see the alligators, crocodiles, caimans, and wildlife. There is also a great display of local snakes along with some of the more exotic species of snakes from around the world. Informative wildlife shows are presented hourly: 10:00am /1:00pm/4:00pm Snake Show; 11:00am/2:00pm/5:00pm Alligator Show: 12:00pm/3:00pm Alligator Feeding.

At Theater of the Sea you can swim with dolphins, sea lions, and stingrays in their natural salt water lagoons through our interactive swim programs. The lagoons, and lush, tropical gardens at are home to Atlantic bottlenose dolphins, California sea lions, sea turtles, tropical and game fish, sharks, stingrays, alligators, marine invertebrates, colorful parrots, and birds-of-prey. MISSION STATEMENT To provide a wonderful home for our animals while sharing them with visitors in ways that inspire awareness and sensitivity towards animals, the environment, and conservation issues. While some of our animals were collected and others were born here, many are non releasable as a result of imprinting and/or injuries sustained in the wild. The health and well being of the animals takes precedence over all other interests and their care and maintenance is supported by patronage alone. Theater of the Sea is open 365 days a year. The ticket counter opens at 9:30 a.m. EST daily.

"Key Largo Princess" and view the exciting, beautiful, underwater world of John Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park, the only undersea park in the United States. The boat is a luxurious 70-foot, glass bottom, 129 passenger, twin-diesel, aluminum motor yacht. From the sun deck, on your way to the reefs, you will have a panoramic offshore view of the Florida Keys and the ever-changing colors of the ocean. If you prefer, you may ride inside, select a comfortable seat and enjoy the luxuries of the carpeted, air-conditioned salon. When you reach the reefs you will want to stand and look through the large viewing windows while your narrator tells of the wonders of the reef below. Totaling 280 square feet in area, the viewing windows are large enough for everyone to observe the reef simultaneously. your skipper will take you to the reefs where almost everything you see is alive: the reef itself, built of many varieties of living coral, teems with sea fans, sea plumes and hundreds of fish from small and colorful beyond description to the large species sought after by fishermen. Available, at our galley on the sun deck, is a variety of sandwiches, snack, soft drinks and adult beverages such as beer wine and mixed drinks.
